What the heckfire is happening to the economy?
There might be another post about this aroud, but I havent seen it.
I've noticed over the past week that prices for items at the traders have become increasingly irratic. Black dye was selling for 28p last I checked, up from 8p just a week ago. Other dyes have increased in price exponentially as well. Materials have shot up too, 4p for 10 fur squares, and such. But what makes it so disturbing is that the higher to traders are selling things, the less they are willing to pay for them. Buy red dye for 1500g, sell it for 1g...1g?! 10 fur squares for 4p, sell them for 300g? While the more modest priced dyes that traders sell for 600, they buy for 200. The idea of supply and demand just aint working here. I thought I read in some notice by NCsoft that they would be adjusting things to weed out bots or something like that. So are they simply inflating the trader economy to get rid of them, or is this just the side effect of all these bots people keep screaming about. I havent noticed any bots myself, I cant even imagine why they would be needed in a game like this anyway. You can be succesfull and rich without needless grinding or even farming for that matter, there arnt even any money sinks besides a single set of gaudy armor later in the game anyway. I've only been playing casually for 2 months and I've already got about 70% of the skills and crud unlocked. How lazy do you have to be to "buy" gold in this game? |

i have the answer, yay! lol
It's because GW banned a lot of bots recently (it says in the GW site) so there is less availiblity of things, meaning the prices will be increased and screwed up. The good news is that you can expect good loot from the Fissure and the upcoming "Sorrow's Furnace" to make enough money for runes, dye, etc. Either that or GW needs to fix A LOT of bugs, u won't expect that in any less than a week though. Make sure to keep tabs with the updates at the GW site though. |

Sorry this has been just another in a seemingly long line of threads about this, like I said I didnt see any when I looked. I'm rather new here. I hope you are correct that the problem is being addressed. I think NCsoft is a bit better at keeping on top of things than some MMO companies.

people should really do searches before they post and econ thread... this is getting old, very old, i don't see why everyone blames Anet for the econ problem when it is clearly the players, they choose not to sell dyes to traders and they always buy them from the traders, it does not take a person with an genius to figure out what its going to happen.. i hate how everyone looks to Anet to solve the probem when we as players can do it ourselves... oh wait i forgot everyone in this game is a needy child and is too lazy to solve their own problems
/sigh |

* Improved traders so that they maintain more stable prices and closer spreads between buy and sell prices.
* Improved traders so that traders from all regions (America, Europe, and Korea) now buy and sell from the same stock and charge the same prices. I think A.Net may have fixed the economy, in many ways. Also, they may have stopped people from defecting to other servers to exploit price differences. Yeaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can buy........... Oh wait? Nothing. But, at least threads like this should taper off. |
